Clay Hayes Hunter This survival skill could save your life! Making fires in WET WEATHER!

Knowing how to build a fire is one of the fundamental skills in survival and the outdoors. But people rarely practice making fire in the rain. Whether you’re hiking or tent camping in the northern forests, this survival tip could save your life. In this video on survival techniques, Clay Hayes shows you some techniques with iron chopsticks and how to light a fire in pouring rain. The aim is to find dry tinder, but all fine fuels are damp. But the inner wood of standing dead snags contains dry wood. The most important thing is that they’re straight. We’re going to cut firewood and divide it into small pieces. Next, we’ll choose a straight-grained piece of wood to make a feather stick that will catch the spark of an iron bar. Clay won the eighth season of Alone, during which he survived alone for months in the wilderness and used a ferro rod to light fires every day.

Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. Every week we upload a new video on one of the following topics: archery, bowhunting, bowmaking, survival techniques, bushcraft, preparedness, self-reliance, primitive techniques, primitive bows, hunting, camping, fishing, and much more!

We make the best traditional archery, bow making, recurve hunting, craftsmanship and survival videos on the web.

Join Clay, Liz and the kids on their outdoor adventures, from bowhunting deer and elk in the mountains of Idaho to hunting wild hogs in Florida, and practicing crafts and survival skills. We hunt and fish because we love it, but it’s also how we get most of our meat.

Hunting is our way of life. We also cultivate a large garden on our Idaho property. This, combined with hunting, fishing and gathering, is how we obtain most of our food.
